Service |
| While YObykes do not have any major mechanical moving components (engine, gear box, etc.), service support requirements is much lesser than the conventional petrol vehicle. However, we are committed to provide prompt after-sales service and genuine spares for your YObykes, if required, through our wide spread dealer network being developed across India. |

Battery Charging
Battery is like a fuel tank for the YObykes and requires refilling by the means of charging. Before riding YObyke for the first time it is essential to charge the batteries for 6-8 hours using the supplied charger. To charge, please remove the protective cover from the charging socket. Then plug in the charger into the charging socket, before plugging the charger into a wall power socket. There is an indicator light provided on the charger body which will turn Red while charging. This will become Green when the charging is complete. In case the battery charging light is not indicating, please check the fuse provided on the battery pack. The charger has been provided with a safety feature to avoid overcharging of batteries and thereby enhance the battery life. Generally recharging time will be around 6 to 8 hours. The YObykes have been powered by four 12V, 12Ah or 12V, 20Ah batteries wired in series to provide 48 volts. All batteries charge simultaneously. |
The key points to improve the Battery Life
| » |
It is recommended to charge the YObyke as and when you get an opportunity to charge & avoid complete discharge in use. |
| » |
You should charge the YObyke if it has not been used for 3-4 weeks or more. |
| » |
Always charge the battery in dry and ventilated place to clear the gases emitted from the batteries. |
| » |
Battery should not be stored in discharged condition for any length of time. |
| » |
Always use Indus supplied / approved charger. |
|
| |
Caution
| » |
Do not expose the battery to heat, fire or water. |
| » |
Do not keep the battery in discharged condition for any length of time. |
| » |
Do not try to dismantle the charger or battery pack. |
| » |
Do not expose the battery to extremely high or low temperatures. |
| » |
Keep the battery pack out of children’s reach. |
| » |
Ensure that the Power Switch is OFF when the YObyke is being charged. |
| » |
Stop charging, if any burning smell or overheating is observed. |
|

Tips To Improve Range
| » |
Avoid overloading and over speeding as this will reduce the range substantially. |
| » |
Avoid fast acceleration. A racing start at full acceleration can drain the energy from battery faster. Start off gradually. |
| » |
Maintain the correct tyre pressure. Under inflation of the tyres can waste energy due to increased rolling resistance of the tyres. |
| » |
Turn off the power whenever YOByke is not in use such as road crossings etc. Take advantage of easy starting feature of YOByke and switch it off till required. |
| » |
Drive cost consciously, anticipate traffic conditions, and avoid frequent and unnecessary braking. |
|
| |
Lubrication
Regular cleaning and lubrication of all moving parts is a must. The parts open and exposed to atmosphere e.g. chain, axles, pedal pivots, etc need lubrication. Need-based lubrication is suggested for YObykes which can be judged from the ‘feeling’ of hardness and obstruction to movements. Dusty and rainy conditions will require more frequent lubrication.
| » |
Any general purpose lubricant such as Active 4T (Castrol) or MP3 Grease can be used. Even oil-can may be used to lubricate YObykes. |
| » |
Lubrication is required for all bearing fittings such as front and rear axles, handle / steering & frame joints, bearings on central pedal axle, pedals, brake lever joints, chain (with grease), etc. |
| » |
Excess oil or grease should be cleaned by a cloth. |
|
| |
Cleaning
| » |
The vehicle should be cleaned at regular intervals by wiping with damp cloth. |
| » |
Strong detergents should be strictly avoided. Mild detergent may be used in diluted condition. |
| » |
Water under pressure should not be used for cleaning as this may damage the electrical components. |
